INDIANAPOLIS - While IUPUI spent the day honoring seniors Harold Agyeman-Prempeh and Uriel Macias, it was Green Bay (6-4-3, 5-1-1 Horizon) who did the celebrating, tallying a goal in each half in a 2-0 victory. Audi Jepson netted the game-winner in the 16th minute and Andre Baires deposited insurance in the 61st minute.

"Credit to Green Bay in the first half for taking advantage of a critical mistake on our part in the back with the ball. And then from there, they put out a good, solid, disciplined defensive effort and got the insurance goal in the second half," Head Coach Brian Barnett said. " I'll give our student-athletes a tremendous amount of credit, regardless of where the results have been this season, they continue to fight, they continue to show resiliency and they continue to show the ability to bounce back from adversity.

"It's just those final pieces of execution that haven't come together for us."

After yielding just one goal in the past two games, freshman goalkeeper Michael Buck was a victim of a defensive breakdown for the game's first score. Tomer Zloczower picked the pocket of an IUPUI defender deep in Jaguars' territory before sliding a pass out wide left to Jepson. From there, Jepson slid a shot under Buck into the middle of the net for his eighth score of the year.

IUPUI's best look of the first half came in the 37th minute when Pedro Valladao made a nifty move and cracked a right-footed shot right at Green Bay keeper Jamison Yoder.

In the second half, IUPUI found a little better run despite playing into the teeth of a stiff wind. Sophomore Yan Souza had a quality chance on target from the left side in the 56th minute.

However, Green Bay took a decisive 2-0 edge in the 61st minute, capitalizing on a free kick deep in Jaguars' territory. Baires hammered the restart over the Jaguars' wall and into the upper-right corner of the net for his first tally of the year.

Down a pair of goals, IUPUI (0-12-1, 0-7 Horizon) tried feverishly to get back in the match, but was unable to get one past Yoder. Souza had another quality chance from the right side after Macias had an initial shot knocked down, but Yoder was able to make the stop. The Green Bay keeper closed with four saves while Buck made two stops and benefited from a team save at the opposite end.

Defensively, the eight shots allowed were the fewest by an IUPUI foe this season while the Jaguars outshot an opponent for the first time in 2017. Macias and Souza had three attempts each while Nick Anderson had two.

"I thought that for sure, we knew we were going to come up against a very defensively organized team," Barnett said. "I was pleased with our guys' composure and patience on the ball to be able to get past that initial pressure and earn the attacking half (of the field) and then from there, do their best to earn some attacking stuff from there."

IUPUI will hit the road on Wednesday (Oct. 25) to face Eastern Illinois in non-league play. That match will kickoff at 2:00 p.m..
