BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Trying to mirror their success from a couple seasons ago, the IUPUI volleyball team (4-10) came up short in their mid-day contest Saturday (Sep. 17) against Indiana (11-2), falling in straight sets (17-25, 19-25, 17-25).
The Jags were led in the contest by

Abby Boatman added six kills and three block assists, while
Kori Waelbroeck added six kills.
Alexis Mapes had 18 assists, while
Jessica Helms had a team-high 16 digs.
The match started with the Jags firing the opening salvo, as they've prone to do throughout the season. Fisher rifled a cross court shot to open the match, putting the Jags on top. The action would push to a 7-7 tie on an
Elizabeth Scott kill before the Hoosiers would ignite a small run. IU went on a 4-0 push to take an 11-7 lead, which would hold up throughout the set. The Jags would get within one point at 12-11 thanks in part to a pair of Fisher kills, but the Hoosiers opened it up, eventually taking the set, 25-17. IUPUI was limited to just a .121 attack percentage, committing five errors to nine kills.
Mirroring their offensive efficiency in the first set, the Jags logged another .121 attack percentage in the second set. IUPUI committed six errors to 10 kills, as Fisher led the Jags with three kills in the set. She'd add an ace midway through the set to give IUPUI an early three-point edge, 11-8. The Hoosiers would eliminate the deficit on a 6-0 run, eventually cruising to a set win, 25-19.
The third set featured a highlight moment for the Jags, as Walling picked up a block assist to set a new all-time program record for total blocks in a career. Her 376th block cut the Jaguar deficit to two points, 13-11. IUPUI couldn't get it any closer than two however, as they'd drop the final set, 25-17.
