INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team will continue a busy week by hosting a pair of matches in a three-day span at the on-campus Michael A. Carroll Stadium. On Friday night (Sept. 16), IUPUI will welcome Evansville to the Circle City for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. That match will be streamed live on IUPUIJags.com.
On Sunday (Sept. 18), IUPUI will take on Xavier at 1:00 p.m..
Admission is FREE of charge for IUPUI students with a valid JagTag and adult tickets are just $5 at the box office.
LAST TIME OUT
IUPUI was dumped at Butler on Tuesday night (Sept. 13) as the host Bulldogs scored three first half goals in the victory. Butler closed the game with a 21-8 shot advantage and 7-3 edge in corner kicks.
Freshman goalie
Sophia Lipka was superb in goal in the second half, making three saves in a clean 45 minutes. In doing so, she extended her personal scoreless streak to 106-plus minutes to start her collegiate career. Junior
Catherine Schmidt closed the first half with five saves before giving way to Lipka at the break.

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE (1-7-1 overall, 1-5 away)
Evansville is 1-7-1 overall this season and 1-5 on the road with the lone win coming at Miami (Ohio) on Aug. 21. Bronwyn Boswell leads the Purple Aces' attack, having scored five of the team's seven goals, including the game-winner at Miami. She's attempted a team-high 20 shot attempts, putting 10 on frame.
In goal, Whitney Biggs has started all nine matches and has a 1.70 goals against average and 45 saves. She's recorded two shutouts this season and owns a .738 save percentage.
SCOUTING XAVIER (5-2-1 overall, 4-1-1 away)
Xavier is 5-2-1 on the season and an impressive 4-1-1 in road matches. The Musketeers have outscored foes 14-9 in eight games and owns a pair of shutouts.
Samantha Dewey leads the XU offense with four goals and four assists and Tori Doss has added three goals. Rachel Piccus has started all eight games in goal and has a 1.19 goals against average and 33 stops.
INSIDE THE SERIES
vs. Evansville: IUPUI is 2-4-1 all-time against Evansville and hasn't beaten the Aces since Sept. 4, 2009. Evansville won last year's meeting 2-1.
vs. Xavier: IUPUI is 0-3 all-time against Xavier and lost last year's meeting 2-0 in Cincinnati.
