IUPUI SOCCER TEAMS COLLECT NSCAA TEAM ACADEMIC AWARDS

Men's program honored for seventh time while women's program honored for 11th time

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The IUPUI men's and women's soccer teams longstanding history of academic success was recognized on Thursday (Oct. 6) as both programs were named 2015-16 NSCAA College Team Academic Award winners. Teams posting a grade point average of 3.0 or higher were recognized with the annual honor.

IUPUI was one of 221 collegiate programs nationally that had both the men's and women's squads recognized. The Jaguars were one of four Division I schools from the state of Indiana to have both teams honored (joined by Evansville, Indiana & Valparaiso) and one of just two Summit League programs to have both squads honored (joined by Denver).

The Jags men's team registered a 3.32 grade point average during the 2015-16 academic year, collecting the program's seventh award in school history (2004, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015 & 2016).

On the women's side, Chris Johnson's team posted an incredible 3.55 GPA last year. It was the eighth straight year and 11th time total the Jaguars have earned the award under Johnson, including 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2009-16.
