Watch LiveTERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Coming off a 3-1 week at home, the IUPUI volleyball team returns to the road this week beginning with a trip to nearby Terre Haute, Ind., on Tuesday, Sept. 8, to take on Indiana State.
Tuesday's match will begins at 7 p.m., and the match will be streamed live on WatchESPN.
"Indiana State came into our place and beat us in five (last year), and I know they have a good team again this year too," head coach
Steve Payne said following Saturday night's win over West Virginia. "It's always fun to take on an in-state rival, and it's going to be a battle."
Logan Walling and
Kaitlyn Hickey led the Jaguars to a 2-1 weekend during the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational last weekend and their play resulted in each of them being named to the All-Tournament Team. Hickey led the team in kills for the weekend compiling 36 kills, while Walling hit over .450 for all four matches last week.
This season, the Sycamores are off to 5-2 start and they have three players averaging more than 2.50 kps led by Bree Spangler's 2.97 kps. The most impressive stat for Indiana State is its 47 aces through seven matches, averaging out to 1.57 sa/s.
Indiana State leads the all-time series against the Jaguars, 16-7, after winning in Indianapolis, 3-2, last season. IUPUI has won three of the last four meetings, including three straight when playing in Terre Haute.
