Live StatsCEDAR FALLS, Iowa - For the first time this season, the IUPUI women's soccer team will hit the road when the Jaguars take on Northern Iowa on Saturday (Sept. 5) at 2:00 p.m. Eastern. The Jaguars opened the season with an exhibition and four regular season games at Michael A. Carroll Stadium ahead of this weekend's initial road trip.
Head Coach
Chris Johnson's club will look to snap a modest two-game slide following Tuesday's 2-0 loss to crosstown rival Butler. Visiting Butler scored twice in the game's opening seven minutes and coasted to the shutout win over the Jaguars, outshooting the hosts 24-1. Senior
Lauren Kulaga was credited with IUPUI's lone attempt, while the goalkeeping duo of
Catherine Schmidt and
Nicole Kulovitz teamed to make 11 saves for the Jags. In addition, sophomore
Sarah Jacobs earned a team save, deflecting a Butler attempt off the underside of the crossbar during the match.
Johnson played 22 players in Tuesday's loss, including the season debuts of
Meghan Day and
Alyssa Fox. Day originally intended on sitting out the season due to recurring injury problems while Fox missed the preseason and first four matches due to an injury.
HONORSSophomore
Krissy Kirkhoff was recently selected as
IUPUI's Female Athlete of the Month for August after scoring three goals in the season's first three games.

Lauren Kulaga has made 62 career starts and is well on her way to becoming the sixth player in school history to earn 70 career starts.
-IUPUI's one shot against Butler was the fewest in a game by an IUPUI team. The previous low was two attempts in a game, which last happened at Detroit back on Aug. 29, 2010.

Kalli Shepler-Tucker enters play with 14 career assists, one shy of tying Sheri Levack for the program's all-time lead in that category.
-Kirkhoff and Minnich are the program's active career leaders with 12 goals each.
-Since the start of the 2013 season, IUPUI is 10-8-7 in matches at Carroll Stadium.
-Kulovitz hasn't allowed a goal in 89:23, dating back to last season.
SCOUTING THE JAGUARSIUPUI has dropped two straight after opening the season with a draw with Eastern Illinois and a win over UIC. The Jaguars have scored and yielded five goals, with sophomore Krissy Kirkhoff having contributed three scores. Junior Tori Minnich and sophomore Beth Parks are responsible for the team's other two goals while Minnich has a team-high two assists.
In goal, sophomore Catherine Schmidt has played the bulk of the team's minutes, logging a 1.38 goals against average and 23 stops in her four starts. Junior Nicole Kulovitz had her best showing of the season against Butler on Tuesday (Sept. 1), playing a scoreless second half against the Bulldogs. She has yet to be scored on in more than 54 minutes this season. SCOUTING THE PANTHERSUNI (2-1-2) is coming off a 2-1 overtime loss to Iowa and sits at .500 to start the year. The Panthers own wins over Green Bay (1-0) and Eastern Illinois (3-0) before Iowa handed them their first defeat. Annie Dale leads the Panthers attack with four goals and 16 shot attempts in five games, while Maddie Welch has contributed two goals. In goal, Whitney Blunt has played the majority of the squad's minutes, posting a 1.12 goals against average and 21 saves in five starts.
SERIES RECORDIUPUI is 2-1 all-time against Northern Iowa and 1-0 in the only meeting in Cedar Falls. The series began in 2007 as UNI won a 3-0 decision over the Jaguars in Indianapolis. IUPUI has since followed with a 2-0 win in 2008 in Cedar Falls and a 2-1 win over the Panthers in Indianapolis in 2013.

Grace Perkowitz tallied the game-winner in the 55th minute. Minnich also had an assist in that match.
