INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's swimming and diving team started 2015 on a positive note Friday evening posting a pair of wins over Ball State and Xavier at the IUPUI Natatorium.

The Jags defeated the Musketeers by a score of 165-129, while also posting an impressive 215-85 win over the Cardinals.

The 200 medley relay got the Jags off to a great start as they won the event in convincing fashion clocking a 1:34.89.

Rich Sunkel then started the individual events by placing second in 1,000 meters at 9:46.41, which tied for the fourth-best time in program history.

Following Sunkel's performance, the Jaguars depth showed in the next several events beginning with the 200 free. Tony Carroll got his first individual win of the night in 200 free at 1:43.49, and Trenton Wolfe joined him on the podium with a third-place time of 1:45.44.

Aaron Brysch and John Kamphius backed up Carroll and Wolfe in 100 back with times of 53.26 and 53.94, respectively, to also place first and third. The trend then continued when Adam Ferguson and Landan Mintch went 1-3 in the 100 breast clocking times of 58.74 and 59.45.

Lennart Kuester was next on the blocks with back-to-back swims in the 50 free and 100 free, and after placing third in the 50 free he bounced back with a win in the 100 free at 47.04. Brysch joined Kuester on the podium in the 100 free with a third-place time of 47.77.

Carroll became the first multiple-event winner on the night winning the 200 back in 1:54.19, prior to Goff and Alexander Rhoda posting a 2-3 finish in the 200 breast with times of 2:11.12 and 2:11.72, respectively.

Down the stretch, Ferguson claimed a win in the 100 fly (52.33) and Rhoda earned the top spot in the 200 IM (1:57.95) to finish off the individual events, before the Jags closed with a second-place finish in the 400 free relay.

Up next for the Jags is a dual meet on Thursday, Jan. 15, against Wisconsin-Green Bay at the IUPUI Natatorium. That contest is set to begin at 5 p.m.
