INDIANAPOLIS - Members of the IUPUI men's soccer team were among the more than 15,000 that participated in the 2014 'Race for the Cure' in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday (Apr. 12). The 23rd annual 3.1 run/walk spun through the Circle City, culminating just off the IUPUI campus at Military Park.
Much of the crowd donned pink as the event was created to support breast cancer patients, survivors and ongoing research.

Clint Hoffar's mother (pictured above with the team) is a cancer survivor and took part in the Saturday's walk. In addition, some members of the program opted to grow out beards in solidarity before shaving just following Saturday's race.
"Cancer has affected all of us and we just wanted to show our support and stand behind the survivors out there," Head Coach
Isang Jacob said. "It's touched all of our lives. We have a lot of survivors connected to our program, so this is one way we can provide support.
"It's the least we can do. Our guys take great pride in representing IUPUI and this is another way we were able to do so."
The Jaguars were instrumental in the setup of Saturday's race as well, volunteering to position bike racks along the course on Friday.
This marks the second straight year the Jaguars have participated in a similar event under Coach Jacob.
