INDIANAPOLIS – With just two weeks remaining in the regular-season, the IUPUI volleyball team kicks off an important three-match homestand this weekend when it welcomes Omaha and North Dakota State to The Jungle.

The Jaguars opens the weekend with a tilt against the Mavericks at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, before hosting North Dakota State at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8.

"We have two big matches this weekend against two quality teams in Omaha and NDSU and both teams are different then when we played them earlier in the year," head coach Steve Payne said. "We are excited to be back at home and play in front of our fans."

Friday's match against the Mavericks will be Heather's Voice Night for the Jags as they team up with Heather's Voice to raise awareness about domestic violence. The team is also helping the organization raise money in a variety of ways prior to and during the match.

Any time on Friday, Nov. 7, fans can head to the Stacked Pickle located on the IUPUI campus at 910 W 10th St., and 15 percent of the food sales will be donated to Heather's Voice when this coupon is presented. During the match, the team will be raffling off gift baskets with the proceeds going directly to Heather's Voice.

On the court, the Jags and Mavericks will meet for the second time this season following a five-set IUPUI win in Omaha that opened the conference season back on Sept. 26. The Mavs own a 10-16 overall record, including a 5-8 mark in league action, and they are one of the top defensive teams in the league. In conference-only matches, UNO ranks second in digs (15.90 dps) and third in blocks (2.02 bps) making it the only team ranked in the top three in both categories.

While IUPUI has reeled off seven consecutive wins, the next longest active win streak in the league belongs to North Dakota State. After starting 1-6 in the Summit League, the Bison have put together five straight wins including back-to-back victories over Denver and South Dakota. In Summit League matches, NDSU ranks first in service aces (81) and solo blocks (39). Offensively, Jenny Fassbender puts down a team-best 3.81 kills per set in league play, while middle hitter's Emily Miron and Emily Minnick both are hitting above .295.

With five matches remaining, IUPUI and Denver are tied atop the conference standings in the loss column as both sit one game ahead of South Dakota. During this current win streak, the Jaguars are hitting a collective .263, led by Logan Walling's .360 clip. Kaitlyn Hickey and Kelly Wachtel have been the leading kills producers averaging 4.25 kps and 3.00 kps, respectively, while Alexis Mapes has averaged 10.43 aps during this run.

With Friday's match serving as Heather's Voice Night, Saturday's match will be Senior Day for IUPUI's three seniors - Beth Howard, Caitlin Farus and Meredith Farkas. All three will be honored prior to the start of Saturday's match against the Bison.
