INDIANAPOLIS - 16 kills from Moriah Fair, 40 assists from Alexis Meeks and six kills and two blocks from Kortni Wright led the IUPUI volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over South Dakota State on Senior Night Saturday at The Jungle, which clinched IUPUI's second-consecutive Summit League regular-season title.

The win was the Jaguars 11th in their last 12 conference games, and improved them to 17-13 overall and 11-3 in the league. South Dakota State fell to 6-8 in the conference. The win extended IUPUI's Summit League home winning streak to 17 matches, which dates back to the 2011 season.

"We were ready to play tonight and it showed out there. We just controlled the game right away and that's what I said to the girls today - that we have got to come out and take control from the start and we did that," head coach Steve Payne said. "We knew what was on the line and we wanted another championship.

"(The seniors) did great tonight. Alexis with 40 assists, Moriah with 16 kills and Kortni without a hitting error - it just shows you how good those seniors are and how much they have helped this program," Payne added.

Playing in their final home game of their college careers, the IUPUI seniors came out fired up in the first set and controlled it the entire way. Meeks opened the action with an ace and kill on the first two points. Kills from Logan Walling, Kelly Wachtel and Wright gave the Jaguars a 7-2 lead and forced a timeout from the Jackrabbits. The timeout didn't slow the Jags down however as Walling connected on back-to-back aces. IUPUI gave up back-to-back points only once late in the set with the outcome all but decided. Walling and Hickey led the Jaguars with four kills each and Fair added three more en route to a 25-11 win.

The second set got off to a slower start with the Jaguars trailing 2-4, but they went on a 13-2 run to take control of the set. Wright got them started with two kills to tie the score and Fair helped extend the lead to 9-5 with three straight. With a 15-6 lead in the set, the Jags never looked back and cruised to a 25-16 win. Fair led the Jags with 5 kills in the set.

IUPUI stormed out to a 7-1 lead in the third set. Fair did her part putting down three kills in the stretch, but the Jackrabbits fought back and closed within four points following an ace and a Wagner Larson kill. Not wanting to give them any momentum, the Jags answered with a four-point run capped by Fair and Meeks kills, both assisted by Beth Howard. Both teams exchanged points throughout the rest of the set, but SDSU couldn't mount a comeback. Fair recorded her eighth kill of the set and 16th of the match on the final point to give the Jaguars the win and the Summit League regular-season championship.

Defensively, Howard led all players with 17 digs.

By winning the title, IUPUI will be the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming Summit League Tournament, which will be held Nov. 22-24 at The Jungle. The Jags will play at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, against the winner of the No. 4/No. 5 game, which will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22.
