MACOMB, Ill. - The IUPUI men's soccer team will take on Summit League foe Western Illinois on Saturday (Nov. 2) at noon Eastern as the Jaguars seek their first postseason tournament berth since 2010. Saturday's match will be played on WIU's alternate field as their usual game field is unplayable due to recent rain in the area.

Saturday's match marks IUPUI's first competition in nearly two weeks.

The Jaguars enter the weekend third in The Summit League standings at 2-1-1 while WIU is fourth at 2-2. The Leathernecks will host the four-team Summit League Tournament on Nov. 15-17.

"We look forward to the challenge ahead of us," Head Coach Isang Jacob said. "Our goal is to be in the conference tournament. We have fond memories of the tournament in Macomb, and we set a goal of getting back there."

IUPUI (2-10-4, 2-1-1 Summit) has timely home wins over Omaha and Fort Wayne, but is still seeking its first road win of the season. The last time out, the Jaguars collected a hard fought 0-0 double overtime draw at Northern Kentucky as sophomore goalie Eduardo Cortes notched his third shutout of the season. In doing so, Cortes dropped his goals against average to 1.72 on the season, while upping his save total to 65 in 13 starts.

Offensively, the group of Ian Block, Lance Davis, Michael Sass and Jonny Williams continue to lead the squad with two goals each, while Block has a team-high six points. Both Clint Hoffar and Evan Smith are tied with Block with a team-high two assists.

Hoffar is the lone Jaguar to have started all 16 matches this season as the IUPUI roster has been riddled by injuries. Thirteen different players have missed at least one match due to injury or illness, many of whom were projected starters. Through the adversity, IUPUI has been able to get results recently, going 2-2-1 since Oct. 5.

Western Illinois (4-10, 2-2 Summit) has Summit League wins over IPFW and Eastern Illinois and is led by Husref Jupic (6 goals, 2 assists) and Diego Lopez (3 goals, 2 assists). In goal, Yves Dietrich has played every minute of the season, posting a 1.64 GAA and .758 save percentage.

IUPUI is 10-7-1 all-time against WIU, including winning last year's meeting 3-0 on Senior Night at Carroll Stadium.
