INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to competitive action this weekend hosting meets on Friday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 12, respectively, which will serve as the final two home meets of the season.

On Friday, the women's team will take on Marshall, Ball State and Xavier, while the men will square off against the Cardinals and the Musketeers. On Saturday, both squads will face off against Summit League foe Western Illinois and Saint Louis.

This weekend's meets will also serve as the final home meets for four seniors. On the men's side, Luke Green, Josh Davis and Mitchell Gauger will compete in front of the home fans for the final time. The lone senior on the women's side is Elizabeth Bourgeois.

"This group of seniors has been through a lot considering they had a coaching change in the middle of their careers," said head coach Matt Bos. "Despite that, they bought in to what we were teaching them and have laid the foundation for our program and have been great leaders for us."

The Jags have been off for over a month after completing the House of Champions meet in early December. Despite the lay-off, the Jags spent most of the month training and Bos believes this meet will be beneficial for his teams.

"We're about six weeks out from the Summit League Championships and we are coming off our training trip, so this meet will be a tough one not only because of the competition, but because most of our swimmers will swim eight races in about 24 hours," Bos said. "Right now, everybody is sore, tired and worn down, but at the same time we have to battle through it and find a way to swim fast."
