ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League announced its Academic All-League Teams the fall season on Thursday (Jan. 25) afternoon with 517 student-athletes earning accolades in men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball. Oakland landed a league-high 62 selections on The Summit League's Fall Academic All-League Team with the Jaguars placing second with 59 honorees. Western Illinois ranked third with 54 student-athletes earning recognition.

In order to be named to the Academic All-Summit League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.0 grade-point average in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. To be picked a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA.

Departmentally, IUPUI is coming off a record breaking semester as the combined GPA was 3.15 for 230+ student-athletes. It was the fifth straight semester in which IUPUI had a 3.0 GPA or better. On Wednesday, 31 IUPUI student-athletes were named to the league's Distinguished Scholar list, ranking first in the league.
