Shari Bernhardt and
Kalyse Reimbold step on the floor of The Jungle for the final time this Saturday when they lead the IUPUI volleyball team into action against Western Illinois on Senior Night. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.
The duo ranks among the best in IUPUI history in several statistical categories and they will be recognized prior to the start of the match against the Leathernecks.
LAST TIME OUT
The Jags went the distance in a pair of conference matches and ultimately split the weekend series with UMKC and South Dakota. By splitting the matches, the Jags remained one match below .500 at 7-8.
IUPUI began Friday’s match against the Kangaroos with wins in sets one and two, but came up short by the slimmest of margins, 23-25, 22-25, and 13-15, in the final three sets as UMKC captured its third conference win of the season.
The Jags found themselves in a similar situation on Saturday evening winning the first two sets over South Dakota before the Coyotes rallied to force a fifth set. However, the Jaguars downed USD 15-11 in the final set to preserve the win.

Shari Bernhardt posted 42 digs making her IUPUI’s all-time leader in digs with 2,080, surpassing Erin Jones’ record of 2,067.
Bethany Fogler also became IUPUI’s single-season leader in block assists while becoming the first player in program history to surpass the century mark in block assists in a season. On the year, Fogler is tied for the single-season lead in solo blocks and already holds the single-season total blocks and block assists records.

SCOUTING THE LEATHERNECKS
Western Illinois enters this weekend with a 12-15 overall record and a conference mark of 3-12 after losing four consecutive conference matches, including the last two matches in five sets.
The Leathernecks broke their four-match losing skid on Tuesday knocking off Chicago State in three sets.
Katie Hosteng is one of three players averaging over 2.45 kills per set on the season and leads the team in that category averaging 2.63 kps.
WIU is one of the top digging teams in the country led by Bridget Murphy, who leads the conference and is ranked among the top nationally averaging 6.05 digs per set.
IUPUI won the first meeting this season, 3-0, on Oct. 8 in Macomb, Ill.
