INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI volleyball team is coming down the home stretch of the Summit League schedule and the Jaguars host UMKC and South Dakota this weekend in a pair of crucial conference tilts.
The Jags open the weekend with UMKC on Friday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in The Jungle before hosting the Coyotes on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
IUPUI had a record night as it downed in-state and Horizon league foe Valparaiso, 3-1, to inch its overall record closer to .500 at 12-13.
Â
In the second set, Shari Bernhardt became the second player in program history and the fourth in Summit League history to eclipse 2,000 career digs. Bernhardt now has 2,014 digs for her career and she has her sights set on Erin Jones' school record needing 54 digs to become IUPUI's new career digs leader.
Â
The Jaguars defense led them to the win as the team tied a school record with 18.0 total blocks in the victory. Bethany Fogler tallied six blocks, making her IUPUI's single-season total blocks leader with 110, while Corinne Owens came off the bench to post nine total blocks, the fifth-best single-match blocks performance in program history. Four of her nine blocks were solo blocks, which also tied the program record for most solo blocks in a match.
Â
Offensively, three players finished in double figures in kills, led by Kalyse Reimbold's 15 kills. Kelsey Hoefer added 14 kills, while Moriah Fair collected 13 kills and 18 digs, her sixth kill-dig double-double of the season.
