Southern Utah (Oct. 15): Live Stats
TULSA, Okla. - The IUPUI women's soccer team will be setting out on a critical two-game Summit League road trip, beginning with Thursday's (Oct. 13) match at Oral Roberts at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. The trip will conclude with a 4:00 p.m. Eastern kickoff at Southern Utah on Saturday (Oct. 15). The Jaguars come in seeking their first Summit League win of the season and hoping to snap a 10-game winless skid.
On Thursday, the Jaguars will be without Head Coach
Chris Johnson, who was issued a red card in the closing minute of the first half of the 1-0 loss to South Dakota State on Sunday. Assistant Coach
Lisa Gebhard will assume the head coaching duties as both teams look to snap skids. ORU (4-8-1, 1-2 Summit) comes in having lost three-in-a-row, but hasn't competed since Oct. 2.
Also on Thursday, senior back
Margaret Allgeier will likely become IUPUI's all-time leader in career starts, making her 74th career start, surpassing IUPUI Hall of Famer
Karrie Reising in that category. Reising made 73 starts in her four-year career. Allgeier's classmate
Megan Hock is also chasing a Reising-held record, having scored 31 goals in her IUPUI career to tie Reising's mark. Hock's tallied a team-high five this season and both
Chelsi McHenry and
Taylor Heidorn are second on the squad with three apiece.
In goal, sophomore
Giselle Guzman played both matches for IUPUI last weekend, yielding just three goals in 180 minutes work. The California-native lowered her goals against average to 2.90 on the year and has made 32 saves in her nine appearances.
ORU is led by Maria Grados' six goals and 14 points, despite her having missed the last two matches. In net, Amanda Wheeler has a 2.14 GAA in 10 matches as three different Golden Eagles have been in goal this year. The trio has yielded 26 goals in 13 games.
Southern Utah (2-7-3, 0-2 Summit) enters the weekend also in search of its first Summit League victory and having been outscored 28-14 on the season. Missy Lazcano has a team-high three goals and five others have two goals. Riley Bassett is the team's top scorer with two goals and four assists in 12 games. Breana Fitzgerald has a 1.94 GAA for the T-Birds and Charly Booth has a 2.35 mark.
IUPUI is 3-9-2 all-time against ORU and 6-2-2 against Southern Utah.
