VALPARAISO, Ind. - The IUPUI volleyball team fell 3-1 to Valparaiso 25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17 on Saturday evening. The Jaguars (3-13) fell down early in the first set and couldn't recover. The Crusaders (13-2) scored eight of the first nine points and rolled through the first set.

IUPUI fought back in the second set. Dana Gardner, Jessica Phelps and Lindsey Weber all had kills to get the Jaguars within one at 15-14.

With the set tied at 23, the Jaguars scored the final two points on a ball handling error by Valpo's Val Bollenbacher and a Lindsey Weber kill.

IUPUI put up a valiant effort, but couldn't capture either of the final two sets. The Jaguars scored the first four points of the third set, but the Crusaders proved to be too much for IUPUI.

After taking a 21-20 lead on a Kalyse Reimbold kill, one of a team-high 13, the Jaguars surrendered five straight points to drop the set.

Down two sets to one, the Jaguars gave up the first three points of the fourth set and never led in the fourth set.

Game Notes: Reimbold led the team hitting .344. Alexis Meeks had a double-double with 34 assists and 13 digs. Shari Bernhardt led the team with 25 digs.
