Follow The Jags This Weekend
INDIANAPOLIS – Three IUPUI volleyball seniors will play their final home match as a Jaguar on Saturday, Nov. 13, when IUPUI hosts Western Illinois at 7 p.m. at The Jungle for Senior Night. Prior to the start of the match
Dana Gardner,
Lauran Thompson and
Jessica Phelps will be honored for their hard work and dedication to the program over their careers.
"I would to thank the seniors for their four seasons of commitment and hard work and helping us to two conference tournament appearances," said head coach Steve Payne. "They have embodied the definition of a student-athlete on and off the floor."
The Jaguars are coming off tough road losses to Oakland and IPFW last weekend. After dropping the opener of the trip in three sets to the Grizzlies, IUPUI bounced back with a spirited effort against one of the top teams in the conference in the Mastodons, but a late fifth-set rally by IPFW sent the Jaguars home with a five-set defeat.
Kalyse Reimbold led the Jaguars offensively last weekend with 15 kills against Oakland, before putting together an 18-kill, 14-dig performance versus IPFW marking her ninth kill-dig double-double of the campaign.
Western Illinois comes into the weekend with a four-match losing streak and owns an 8-21 overall mark and a 3-14 conference record. Allison Gilbert paces the Leathernecks offensively averaging .269 kills per set, but as a team WIU is hitting at a .157 clip while allowing its opponents to hit at a .225 percentage.
