FARGO, N.D. - The IUPUI volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-21, 27-25, 25-14) against North Dakota State on Saturday evening.
The Jaguars had an opportunity to win the first set up 21-19, but North Dakota State's Brynn Joki powered the team to six straight points. Joki accounted for four of the six points with four consecutive service aces.
After being ahead 20-15 in the second set, North Dakota State's Megan Lambertson helped her team even the match with four kills and a block assist. The Bison had three match points after an IUPUI attack error. The Jaguars were able to fight off all three match points with the help of three attack errors.
A Joki kill gave the Bison a fourth match point, but
Kalyse Reimbold answered for the Jaguars to knot the set at 25. North Dakota State finally put the set away with two straight kills from Chrissy Knuth.
IUPUI stayed close in the third set until the Bison scored seven straight points to give the squad a comfortable nine-point lead which they wouldn't relinquish.
Moriah Fair led the Jaguars with 12 kills and 18 digs while Reimbold added nine kills. IUPUI was out-hit .318 to .209.
The Jaguars return to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. to face #23 Cincinnati.
