INDIANAPOLIS - Donning pink jerseys, the IUPUI women's soccer team enjoyed a highly profitable night with an impressive 3-0 win over Summit League foe Centenary on a chilly Friday evening in Indianapolis. Junior Megan Hock scored twice and senior Amanda Snyder added some late insurance in the victory.

The Jaguars auctioned off the jerseys during the match and raised nearly $1,500 to benefit the American Cancer Society.

"We've got great girls and great girls come from great parents," IUPUI Head Coach Chris Johnson said. "We've got great parents and great supporters of our program, so for us to raise that much money in our first go around with something like this only solidifies what we already knew about our supporters."

On the field, Hock pushed IUPUI (7-8, 3-2 Summit) to a 1-0 lead in the game's 19th minute, thanks to the first of two assists from junior forward Alicia Brock. Brock played a through ball between two Centenary (3-10, 0-4) defenders, setting up Hock for a one-v-one with Centenary goalkeeper Kalyn Harris. Hock's final touch was a shot inside the right post from about 12 yards out for her fifth goal of the year.

"One of our barriers is that if we get scored on first, it's hard for us to come back," Hock said. "Putting a goal in first really put a fire under our shoes and showed we needed to step up. It was a must for us to get that first one."

While Centenary was unable to gain much offensive traction, the visiting Ladies trailed just 1-0 at the break despite being outshot 14-4 in the first half. Hock made it 2-0 in the 54th minute though, capping an impressive offensive possession in the attacking third. Brock began the play by weaving her way through the Centenary defense before shuttling the ball in the direction of freshman Sarah Carlisle.

Carlisle shifted a pass to Hock towards the far post, who was then able to hit a shot just inside the right post for her fourth career multi-goal game and second of the season.

"What we've been working on all week is moving off the ball and we really showed it up top today," Hock said. "That was one of the main contributors for our goals tonight."

Snyder capped the scoring the 84th minute on an impressive strike, setup by freshman Ashley Doreski's lead pass. Given space to work with, Snyder turned her defender before blasting a left-footed shot into the upper-right corner of the net from 18 yards out. It was just her second career goal and her first since August 2008.

Defensively, IUPUI dominated the action, limiting the guests to just seven shot attempts and only one on frame. Freshman Giselle Guzman made the Jaguars' lone save of the night in the tenth minute while Kristin Haseley was largely untested in the second half.

"A lot of the play was in their end of the field and they looked to counter off of that," Johnson said. "I was proud of our girls because they didn't get lulled to sleep and kept it professional in the back. They did a good job of keeping them from being dangerous and keeping the clean sheet.

"Sammi Deer did a great job coming in there and keeping their main target player under control."

"Our defense is pretty solid back there. It doesn't matter who we play, they always come to play," Hock added.

Hock led the IUPUI attack with five shots while both Sarah Colby and Kristin Pierce added four each. IUPUI finished the night with a 27-7 shot advantage and 10-1 margin on corner kicks. Harris made 11 saves for the Ladies in defeat.

IUPUI will cap the two-game homestand on Sunday when the Jaguars host Oral Roberts at Kuntz Stadium beginning at noon. The match will be streamed live via the web as part of the IUPUI LIVE! subscription service. Additionally, fans that were unable to bid on the pink IUPUI jerseys tonight can continue to bid on a select few online through Monday at midnight by clicking here.
