TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Seemingly clicking on all cylinders, the IUPUI women's soccer team notched its third straight defensive shutout and scored a season-high three goals in a 3-0 pasting of Indiana State on Sunday afternoon. Three different Jaguars scored a goal and four others contributed an assist in the victory.
Sophomore
Megan Hock scored her third goal in two games to account for the game-winner in the 35th minute. The feisty forward took advantage of a turnover deep in the attacking third before hitting a shot from 10 yards out into the lower left-hand portion of the net. IUPUI (3-2) added some insurance before halftime when rookie
Kelli Parks scored her first collegiate goal.
Sophomores
Stacy Levack and
Alicia Brock set up the score with connecting passes before Parks back heeled a shot past ISU (0-4-1) goalkeeper Emily Lahay in the 41st minute. Junior
Cara Hartman capped the scoring in the 72nd minute when she scored her first collegiate goal in her 23rd career match.
Sophomore
Alex Baer and senior
Leslie Walker set up the play before Hartman hit a strike from the top of the 18 that settled into the lower right corner of the net.
Senior goalkeeper
Jamie Farrell made six saves to run her current scoreless streak to over 273 minutes in net. The shutout was the 16th of her career.
IUPUI outshot the Sycamores 14-12 led by Brock's four attempts off the bench. Hock, Parks and
Katrina McCrory all had two attempts each.
IUPUI will look to stretch its winning streak to four against Detroit as part of a soccer doubleheader at Kuntz Stadium on Friday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and will be followed by the men's match with Cleveland State. The contest is part of
