KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The IUPUI women's soccer team got a goal late in the first half from Megan Hock and added a pair of late insurance goals to knock off UMKC 3-0 at Durwood Soccer Stadium on a soggy Thursday evening. Hock later set up an Alicia Brock goal in the game's 76th minute and junior defender Kelly Williams tallied her first collegiate goal less than two minutes later in the victory.

The win was IUPUI's tenth straight, extending the nation's second-longest winning streak. Thursday's contest was played in low temperatures with a gusting, heavy mist in the air throughout the evening.

"It was miserable," IUPUI Head Coach Chris Johnson said. "It was about 45 degrees and there was standing water on the field. We told our girls that good teams have to win in good conditions and bad conditions. You've still got to go out and play and take care of business."

Hock, IUPUI's Female Student-Athlete of the Month for August/September, continued to provide the Jaguars with an offensive spark as she beat UMKC goalkeeper Jami Finnell in the 32nd minute for her seventh tally of the season. Finnell made an initial save on a slow rolling attempt, but the rebound came free to the IUPUI (10-2, 2-0 Summit) forward, who walked the loose ball into the net.

It was her team-high fourth game-winning goal of the season.

Despite clear advantages in both shots and corner kicks, the IUPUI offense was unable to break through again until the 76th minute. Hock grounded a crossing pass through the UMKC (0-12-1, 0-3 Summit) 18-yard box where Brock was able to drill her sixth score of the season into the lower left-hand corner of the net.

The momentum continued to work in IUPUI's favor as Williams netted additional insurance with just 12:28 left to play. Senior midfielder Katrina McCrory slotted a pass through the UMKC defensive backfield, setting up Williams on a breakaway. Williams tried to cross the ball to the far post, but saw it tuck just inside the standard before teammate Kelli Parks could touch it, recording her first-ever score in her 48th career match.

"They had taken down Alicia (Brock) a number of different times before that," Johnson said. "It was good to see her keep her composure and finally put one away.

"We did some stuff this week to work on getting our outside backs to help get us forward, just in case they packed it in. (Kelly Williams) did a nice job of getting forward and adding another player to our attack."

IUPUI outshot the host Kangaroos 18-3 and 9-0 on frame. Senior goalkeeper Jamie Farrell didn't need to record a save in notching her fifth shutout of the season. She did get some assistance from the post in the 43rd minute when UMKC's Meagan Malloy rifled an attempt off it and back onto the playing surface. It was her 18th career shutout and extended her scoreless streak to over 224 consecutive minutes in goal.

The Jaguars return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cedar City, Utah to take on Southern Utah in the second game of the road trip. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. ET (2:00 MT).
