SHREVEPORT, La. -- Looking to keep pace in the chase for a berth in The Summit League volleyball tournament, the IUPUI volleyball team heads south to take on Centenary and Oral Roberts over the weekend.  The Jaguars will face the Ladies on Friday night before heading northwest to meet the Golden Eagles on Halloween.  Both matches will begin at 8 p.m. ET.

IUPUI (15-9, 7-6 Summit) sits one-half game in front of UMKC for the fourth and final place in the conference tournament and leads Oral Roberts (9-11, 5-6 Summit) by one game.  The Golden Eagles currently have a 1-0 edge in the season series, however, that the Jaguars will be trying to erase on Saturday night.

Before the Jags can think about the key matchup with ORU, however, they must take on the Ladies of Centenary (4-18, 0-11 Summit), who are looking to break a conference winless streak that has reached 31 matches.  The Ladies surprised the Jaguars in the teams' first meeting in 2009, grabbing the first set from IUPUI before the Jags regrouped and took the next three sets to claim a 3-1 win.

The Jaguars lead the all-time series, 13-0, but were taken to five strenuous sets in their last trip to the Gold Dome, rallying for a 3-2 win on Oct. 26, 2008.

While IUPUI has never lost to Centenary, the Jaguars volleyball team has never won in Tulsa, Okla., dropping 15 straight matches in the self-proclaimed "Oil Capital of the World."  The Golden Eagles have had an up-and-down 2009 campaign, dropping their last two matches to fall into seventh-place in the conference.

The Golden Eagles have gone 4-4 at the Cooper Aerobics Center in 2009, splitting their last home series two weeks ago against UMKC and Southern Utah.  Earlier in the season, Oral Roberts swept the Jaguars, 3-0, at The Jungle.  Overall, ORU holds a 26-3 series edge.
