WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM OPENS SUMMIT LEAGUE PLAY AT WESTERN ILLINOIS

MACOMB, Ill. - The IUPUI women's soccer team will open Summit League play at Western Illinois on Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. CST kickoff. Head Coach Chris Johnson's team comes in riding a school record eight-game winning streak.

IUPUI, which won a share of its first-ever Summit League regular season title last season, has outscored its opposition 19-6 during the winning streak and scored multiple goals in each of its past seven outings. Sophomore Megan Hock (5 goals/2 assists) and senior Katrina McCrory (4 goals/2 assists) lead the offense, each having scored three game-winners within the past month. 

Defensively, senior goalkeeper Jamie Farrell has been dominating, posting a 0.82 goals against average and .826 save percentage in her 10 starts. Three of her seven wins this year have come via shutout. 

Western Illinois (3-4-1) has outscored its opponents this year 14-9 led by Jill Kevorkian's three goals and an assist. The Fighting Leathernecks have had nine different goal scorers already this season and turned in a 1.09 goals against average as a team. 

IUPUI trails in the all-time series, 5-6-0.
