ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - IUPUI women’s basketball player Tiffany Kyser (Indianapolis, Ind./Culver Girls Academy/School of Education) has been named the Creamland Dairies Female Collegiate Basketball Student-Athlete of the Year. Kyser was selected over a field of finalists that included guard Allison Curtin of Tulsa and forward Alicia Ratay of Notre Dame.

The award, co-sponsored by Creamland Dairies and the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau, honors college seniors and stresses not only athletic performance, but also academics and community involvement. The award is the first of its kind that recognizes basketball players who excel in all facets of the student-athlete experience.

“This award culminates Tiffany’s collegiate career,” said IUPUI Head Coach Kris Simpson. “This is the cap on a string of awards that validates all the hard work that she put in both on the court, in the classroom and in the community.”

Earlier this year, Kyser was named First Team Verizon Academic All-American and was selected as a national scholar-athlete by the NACDA Division I-AAA Athletics Directors Association.

She also was selected as the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
