Sophomore Lizzie Bourgeois has been tabbed the IUPUI Sahm’s Female Student-Athlete of the month for the Month of February after helping set six new school records during the 2011 Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships in which the Jaguars placed sixth.

Bourgeois set three new school records in individual events while helping break three school records in relay events.

The Cincinnati, Ohio, native set the new school record in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 23.91, while also climbing to the top of the charts in the 100 and 200 butterfly.

Bourgeois’ new school-record time of 2:06.44 in the 200 butterfly was good enough for fourth place at the conference meet, while her new lead mark of 56.44 placed third, making her an all-conference performer.

In addition to her individual success, Bourgeois helped set new school records in the 200 freestyle relay, the 400 freestyle relay, and the 400 medley relay. The most impressive of the school records came in the 400 medley relay where she, Katelyn Cato, Tori Taylor, and Lindsey Hurst combined to become the first quartet in school history to be clocked under four minutes in the event with a time of 3:57.36.
