Sophomore men's golfer Ben Engle has been named the IUPUI Male Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of April. It marks the second straight month he's earned the award.
Engle was IUPUI's low scorer in three of the five tournaments during the month, keyed by a fourth-place finish at the Western Illinois Beu/Mussatto Invitational. At that event, Engle turned in a 36-hole 148 (+4), posting identical 74's.
Previously, he had led IUPUI at the UMB Bank - Tiger Invitational with a 224, tying for 17th overall. He later tied for 30th overall at the Purdue Boilermaker Invitational, carding a 54-hole 221.
In the five events, Engle had a 75.14 stroke average spanning 14 rounds.
For the year, Engle led the Jaguars in scoring average at 74.90. His stroke average was the fourth lowest in school history.
