IUPUI senior Jaron Tuttle has been selected as the IUPUI Student-Athlete of the Month for February.
For Tuttle, the Diver of the Year honor was his second such title in three years; at the 2007 Mid-Continent Conference Championships, he also won Diver of the Year honors. On Friday, Feb. 19, the senior finished second on the 1-meter board with a score of 300.40, falling short of first place by just seven points.
On Sunday, it was Tuttle's turn to best Western Illinois' Eric Campbell, who had beaten him on 1-meter board. Tuttle, who owns The Summit League Championship record on the 3-meter board from 2007, finished with a 304.60 to beat Campbell by 13 points, enabling him to claim Diver of the Year.
The senior will compete at the NCAA Zone Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota on March 13-15. It is the third straight year Tuttle has qualified for the meet.
