Men's track standout Robert Murphy has been named IUPUI's Male Athlete of the Month for May/June 2016. The junior from Warsaw, Ind., collected a pair of Summit League titles during the month and earned IUPUI's first-ever NCAA Regional berth.

At The Summit League Outdoor Championships, Murphy ran winning times in both the 1,500 (3:55.39) and steeplechase (9:15.79) for his third and fourth Summit League titles for the season.

He capped his junior year at the NCAA East Regionals by running a school record time of 8:47.87 in the steeplechase, missing qualifying for nationals by just more than a second.
