Senior swimmer Tony Carroll has been named the IUPUI Men's Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December.

Carroll qualified for the U.S. Short Course Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., which took place Dec. 3-5, and in North Carolina he set a new school record in the 100 back at 50.16. That bettered his previous school record by nearly six-tenths of a second.

Carroll also swam in the 200 free at the U.S. Short Course Nationals and posted a time of 1:39.42, the sixth-best time in program history.
