Senior basketball player Matt O'Leary has been named IUPUI's Male Athlete of the Month for November 2016. The 6-foot-8 Terre Haute-native ranked among The Summit League leaders in eight categories over the season's first month, finishing the month averaging 13.1 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
He connected on 53 percent of his field goal attempts, 35 percent from three-point range and 79 percent at the foul line.
O'Leary collected his second career double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in the win over Howard on Nov. 18. He later tallied a career-high 22 points at SIUE on Nov. 26, hitting 9-of-14 shots. O'Leary finished the month having scored in double-figures in a career best six straight games. He was also named to the 2K Classic All-Tournament Team, helping IUPUI win the Indianapolis Subregional of the event.
