IUPUI junior basketball standout #George Hill# has been named the school’s Male Student-Athlete of the Month for November. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 20.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game over the Jaguars’ first six games. He also hit 60.9 percent of his attempts from the field and better than 47 percent from three-point range.

The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year became IUPUI’s 18th-ever 1,000 Point Scorer at Alaska during the BP Top of the World Classic. He became the fifth player to reach 1,000 points at the NCAA Division I level and was later selected to the BP TOWC All-Tournament Team.

His best effort of the month came versus Chicago State on Nov. 24 as the 6-foot-2 guard had a then season-best 29 points and 10 rebounds for his eighth career double-double.

Hill, who was a Preseason Third Team Mid-Major All-America pick, has scored in double-digits in every game this season.

The Jaguars went 4-2 overall during the month and finished fourth at the Top of the World Classic. It marks the second time in his collegiate career he’s earned the Student-Athlete of the Month honor as he was also awarded in November 2005.
