Laura Hue joined the IU Indy Athletics Department as Associate Athletics Director for Compliance in June 2018 and was promoted to Senior Associate AD and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) in September 2023. She oversees the compliance office, life skills programming and has served as sport administrator for six different program. In addition, she is responsible for monitoring the eligibility of nearly 300 student-athletes.
Since joining the department, she's taken over leadership roles, which includes serving as chair of the Horizon League Compliance Coordinators Peer Group and was a member of the league's Student-Athlete Development Cabinet. She's currently vice chair of the league's senior woman administrators peer group and serves on the governance cabinet. She's also involved with the NCAA Reinstatement committee and is formerly a member of the NAAC Membership and Awards committee.Â
Hue joined IUPUI from Northern Kentucky, where she served as Assistant Director of Compliance for nearly seven years. At NKU, she was responsible for monitoring recruiting activities and practice logs, recruiting contacts/evaluations, and complimentary admissions. In addition, she maintained the Compliance Student-Athlete databases and provided NCAA and league rules interpretations.
She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication at Michigan State University in 2009, while also serving as a Spartan Aide in the Men’s Basketball Office. After graduating from MSU Laura went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Xavier University in 2010. While at XU, she was a Compliance Intern in the Xavier University Athletics Department, as well as an Athletics Academic Intern at Cincinnati State.
She later worked as the Compliance Coordinator at the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga.
Hue is originally from Frankenmuth, Mich., and she and her husband Ben have a son, Nicholas.Â
