IU Indy Athletics

Emily Reese joined the IUPUI Athletics Department in November 2021 as Sports Information Director and will help oversee the department's media relations and social media efforts for all 18 sports. She'll serve as the primary contact for the women's basketball, volleyball, softball, swimming and diving and tennis programs. 

Reese spent the summer of 2021 as the Baseball Communications Assistant for the Indianapolis Indians, aiding in both the home and road coverage of the team. She was responsible for statistics and game notes and also produced feature stories and recaps for IndyIndians.com, the Indians' social media channels and game day programs. In addition, she helped with community outreach events and helped in the hosting of other outside events at Victory Field. 

Reese, a Ball State graduate, worked in BSU's Athletics Communications office while completing her undergraduate work. She produced content for BallStateSports.com and worked in large part with the Cardinals baseball program. Her work contributed to a 34 percent increase in engagement for the baseball program's social platforms, while impressions increased by more than 120 percent. Reese also assisted in the coverage of many Ball State sports, including football, basketball and volleyball. 

A native of Connersville, Ind., Reese earned her B.S. in Communications from Ball State.
