Alex Smith joined the IU Indianapolis Athletic Training staff in August 2026 and will work primarily with the men's basketball and golf programs. Smith comes to IU Indy after three years at Hanover College where he served as assistant athletic trainer, working with student-athletes from all Panther sports. During his time at Hanover, he also worked with Kentucky Orthopedic Rehab Team (KORT).Â
Smith was student athletic trainer while completing his undergraduate work at Saint Louis University and later did an internship at Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2022. He also completed internships at Webster Groves High School and Washington University in St. Louis during his undergraduate career.Â
