Alex King joined the IUPUI swimming and diving staff as an assistant coach in August 2022. King joins IUPUI after spending the last season as a coach at Albion College.
King was a four-time letter winner at Michigan, specializing in the backstroke. While at Michigan he was a Big Ten Champion and former meet record holder in the 200 medley relay, two-time NCAA qualifier, Olympic Trials qualifier, CSCAA All-American and member of two Big Ten Conference Championship teams.
After graduating from Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance (saxophone), King spent time coaching at Albion College where he helped the team to 3rd place finishes at conference for both men and women, seven first place finishes at conference, two conference meet records, nine school records, 40 new or updated Top-10 school times and one relay and two individual B-finalists at the NCAA championships.
