Former IUPUI student-athlete Stephanie Greer enters her second year on the women’s cross country and track coaches staffs, moving up to lead assistant for the 2011 season. Greer completed a three-year IUPUI golf career and earned her degree in exercise science.

Greer finished her IUPUI career ranked fourth on the golf program’s career list in stroke average (85.35) and tied for eighth in rounds played at 57.

The Franklin, Ind.-native began her collegiate career at Indiana University where she was a member of both the cross country and track teams. She ran in four events as a sophomore in 2006, turning in a season-best 5K time of 18:34.8 at the Indiana Intercollegiates. As a freshman, her best mile time was 5:05.76 at the Hoosier Relays while she recorded a team-best 9:52.28 3K at the Penn Relays.

Greer prepped at Roncalli High School where she was pegged the 2005 Marion County Female Athlete of the Year. She placed seventh at the IHSAA State Cross Country Meet and was a top 20 finisher at the Mideast Meet of Champions. In track, she finished ninth in the 3,200m run and also helped Roncalli qualify for the IHSAA State Golf Championships.

Academically, Greer was a three-time Academic All-Conference pick while at IUPUI and was on the Academic Advisor’s List all six semesters. She capped her career by being named an Academic All-Summit League Distinguished Scholar Student-Athlete in 2010. In addition, she was heavily involved with the IUPUI Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, including serving as SAAC President her senior year.
