Former Syracuse and Lafayette Jeff standout Tito Medrano joined the IUPUI staff in December 2014, assisting the Jaguars in oversight of the distance runners.
Medrano was a 2011 All-American on the track in the 10,000m while at Syracuse and was the Orange's first cross country All-American in 27 years, earning the honor in 2009.Â
He was also a 2009 All-BIG EAST performer in cross country and three-time All-BIG EAST finisher in track. Â
He closed his Syracuse career with personal record times of 4:05.71 in the mile and 8:12.85 in the 3K. On the outdoor track, his best times were a 14:03.87 in the 5K and 29:07.73 in the 10K.Â
Medrano finished his prep career with school records in the 4x800 relay and 3,200 while at Lafayette Jeff.
He earned his degree in nutrition from Syracuse in 2012.
