Patrick Yurkanin

Patrick Yurkanin joined the IUPUI Athletic Training staff in June 2016 and works primarily with the men's soccer, men's tennis and women's golf programs. In his role, he's in charge of evaluating and crafting preventative and rehabilitation programs for student-athletes, while keeping direct communication with coaches and physicians. He also assists in IUPUI's drug testing program and serves as the department's primary liaison between the sports medicine staff and IU Natatorium staff. 

Yurkanin came to IUPUI from Toledo, where he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, working with the Rockets' baseball program. He completed his Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Toledo after earning his B.S. in Athletic Training from Michigan State. While at MSU, he had the opportunity to work with the Spartans' football, men's soccer and women's crew programs in East Lansing. He also worked the MSU Gatorade Summer Sports Camps as a team leader throughout his undergraduate career. 

He is BOC certified and became a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association in 2013. In addition, he earned his Indiana Athletic Training license in 2016.
