Matt Reiswerg

Former professional and Indiana University goalkeeper Matt Reiswerg enters his fifth season in 2010 as the Goalkeeper Coach on Head Coach Steve Franklin’s staff.

In 2006, Reiswerg helped Drew Deffner to a banner campaign, earning Second Team All Mid-Con honors. The defense posted five shutouts and a 1.60 goals against average while Deffner notched a .760 save percentage. In 2007, David Barszczowski’s 1.32 goals against average helped lead the Jags to the Summit League championship match. In 2008, Reiswerg helped freshman goalkeeper Tyler Keever rank among The Summit League leaders in nearly every major statistical category, including a 1.26 goals against average. The 2009 campaign was also a great year for IUPUI’s goalkeepers, as Reiswerg oversaw starter Keever (1.24 goals against average) and Alex Mannen (0.95) combine to post the Jags’ lowest team goals against average since the NCAA-tournament team in 2000. The pair combined for an .825 save percentage.

Reiswerg was a member of Indiana University’s 1999 National Championship team and was a part of three IU squads that advanced to the Final Four. Additionally, the Hoosiers captured four Big Ten regular season and two tournament titles during his playing career. He was a 4-time Alpha Beta academic honoree while playing for the Hoosiers.

At the conclusion of his collegiate career, Reiswerg played professionally for the Cincinnati Riverhawks of the USL A-League in 2003, earning A-League Goalkeeper of the Week honors. He also played for the Indiana Blast following his time with Cincinnati.
In 2005, Reiswerg was the starting goalkeeper for the USA Maccabiah team which participated in the 2005 World Maccabiah Games in Israel. He helped lead the USA to its best finish ever, advancing to the tournament final vs. Israel, and winning the Silver Medal.

Reiswerg is also the goalkeeper trainer for Indy Burn and holds an NSCAA Advanced Regional Diploma.

He has previously served as the goalkeeper trainer and head coach for the Greenfield Strikers Club, FC Pride, Noblesville United SC and Fishers FC. A native of Indianapolis, Reiswerg prepped at North Central High School and is currently the Marketing Manager for the IU Natatorium and Michael A. Carroll Track and Soccer Stadium on the IUPUI campus.
