In addition, Torgerson has expanded the staff to include two graduate-assistants to increase coverage for all 14 varsity sports.
Torgerson has served on the IUPUI Staff Council, which was established to connect different sectors of campus and facilitate cross promotion of campuswide events. While serving on the Staff Council, he was the chair of the Rewards and Recognitions Committee.

He later earned his graduate degree in Health and Physical Education at Valdosta State University and completed an internship with the Los Angeles Dodgers rehabilitation facility prior to his second year at VSU.
