Former IUPUI standout defender Derek Craig returned to the Jaguars program in July 2013 as a Graduate-Assistant. A three-year letterwinner for the Jaguars from 2008-10, Craig earned his degree in Kinesiology/Exercise Science in 2011. The Avon, Ind.-native started 54 of 56 career matches in the Jaguars' defensive third and was twice named an Academic All-Summit Leaguer.
Since graduating, Craig has gained coaching experience with the Westside United club program, helping WSU climb from a No. 31 state ranking to a No. 3 listing in two years. He helped WSU's '93 'B' team to an Indiana State Cup runner-up finish, falling only to the WSU '93 'A' team in the 2011 state tournament. He previously was head coach of the '03 WSU Green team and is now a Carmel United '03 Elite assistant coach. Craig has also assisted at Avon High School, leading the Orioles' JV team to a 24-3-3 mark over two years. He also helped Avon to the 2011 IHSAA Final Four and a 2012 Preseason No. 1 ranking. Craig holds a USSF National 'D' License and NSCAA Goalkeeper I diploma.
