High School: Earned 10 varsity letters in cross country, track and swimming at Muncie Southside High School... was a four-time All-Conference honoree in XC... finished second at the Delta Sectional meet his sophomore year, running a career-best 16:40 5K... helped Southside to its first-ever regional title in 2006 and first-ever sectional crown in 2008... was a member of three Olympic Conference championship teams... earned the school's Freshman of the Year award in both cross country and track... was the XC MVP and Track Distance Runner of the Year his senior year... his 3,200m time of 9:53 was the second fastest time in Muncie Southside history... graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was a two-year member of the National Honor Society... earned the Olympic Conference Academic Recognition Award... honored with outstanding achievement in NHS, Spanish and personal finance... graduated with the Indiana Senate Certificate of Achievement and U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award.
