Former Purdue standout Tito Downer joined IUPUI's men's cross country and track coaching staff as a volunteer assistant just prior to the 2012 academic year. Downer was an All-State cross country performer for current IUPUI head coach Chuck Koeppen at Carmel High School before enjoying a standout career for the Boilermakers.
Downer excelled in both cross country and the steeple in track before later serving as one of Koeppen's assistants at Carmel.
He earned his degree in Chemical Engineering in 2001 and is presently employed at Eli Lilly.
He continues to participate in road/trail races and sprint triathlons.
