Biography

Of Note: Selected in the First Round (26th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs... is just the second-ever player in the history of The Summit League (formerly Mid-Continent Conference) to be drafted in the First Round, and is the first draft pick to come out of the league since 1998... finished his career ranked fourth on IUPUI’s all-time scoring list with 1,619 career points, 20th on The Summit League’s all-time list... also ranks among IUPUI’s top 10 all-time in rebounds, assists, free throws made, field goals made and steals... became the second player in IUPUI history to declare an early entry to the NBA Draft, joining Carlos Knox (1997)... was invited to the 2008 NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Orlando from May 27-30... Knox returned to school for his senior season and was later named the NCAA Division II Player of the Year... following his first season, was IUPUI's first-ever freshman to be voted to the league's All-Newcomer Team. 

2007-08 - Junior: Voted the 2008 Summit League Player of the Year by the league’s coaches, media and sports information personnel... was an AP Honorable Mention All-American... named Second Team Mid-Major All-America by CollegeHoops.net... picked Honorable Mention Mid-Major All-America by CollegeInsider.com... also picked Summit League Player of the Year and Third Team Mid-Major All-America in the preseason... led the league and ranked 16th nationally in scoring at 21.5 ppg... also ranked in the top 50 nationally in field goal percentage, finishing 45th at 54.5%... named Team MVP... was a four-time Summit League Player of the Week honoree... led the Summit in double-doubles (9), 30-point scoring games (7) and double-digit rebound games (9)... scored in double-figures in all 32 games... scored a career-high 34 points in come-from-behind win at UMKC on Jan. 3... had 30 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in thrilling 89-77 win over UMass on Dec. 1... led the team in rebounding (6.8 rpg), steals (57), assists (137), minutes (36.8 mpg) and three-point percentage (45.0%)... was chosen to The Summit League All-Tournament Team after averaging 24.0 points and 8.3 rebounds over three games... his 688 points were the seventh-highest single-season total in school history, while his 137 assists were the eight-highest... was selected to take part in the Indianapolis Indians’ Baseball in Education Days on May 15 and May 21.

2006-07 - Redshirt: Broke his foot in the second game of the season, causing him to play in just five games all year and forcing him to apply for a hardship waiver... returned for a three-game stint in December before deciding to sit the rest of the year... notched his seventh career double-double with 19 points and 15 rebounds versus Fairleigh Dickinson on Dec. 29... scored a season-high 20 points in the season-opening win over Alabama A&M, marking his 20th career 20-point game... also matched his career-high with four steals in that contest... led the team in scoring in three of his five appearances... scored in double-digits four times.

2005-06 - Sophomore: Voted to the six-man First Team All-Conference by the league's coaches and media contingent... chosen as the team's Most Outstanding Player... ranked among the Mid-Con leaders in scoring (18.9), rebounding (6.0), field goal percentage (51.8%), assists (3.6), free throw percentage (79.8%), steals (1.7), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.31) and minutes played (35.1)... was one of two Jags to start all 29 games... was a two-time Mid-Con Player of the Week honoree (Jan. 2 & 30)... scored in double-figures 25 times, including 17 games of at least 20 points... scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the win over Urbana on Dec. 19... had four double-doubles including a 24-point, 13-rebound effort against Ball State on Dec. 7... set an IUPUI single-game record by hitting all 10 of his field goal attempts versus UMKC on Jan. 21... tied an IUPUI record by hitting all 11 free throw attempts in the Ball State game... scored the game-winner (five-foot jumper) with 2.1 seconds left in IUPUI's win versus Rice on Nov. 19... hit 12 free throws in a game four different times... led the team in scoring 18 times, assists 15 times and rebounding nine times... hit a career-high four threes (in six attempts) at Oakland on Jan. 4... played all 40 minutes three times, including a career-high 45 at Valparaiso Jan. 28... was chosen to the Mid-Con All-Tournament Team after averaging 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the two games... earned Academic All Mid-Continent Conference honors... named to the Academic Advisor's List for the spring semester.

2004-05 - Freshman: Voted to the five-man Mid-Continent Conference All-Newcomer Team... played in 29 games, making 21 starts... averaged 10.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest... led the team in free throws (61) made... ranked third on the team in scoring, rebounding, assists (65), steals (41), blocked shots (7) and field goals (114)... led the team in scoring six times, rebounding eight times and assists five times... reached double-digits 15 times, including a career-high 26 points on two separate occasions... was one of only two players in the Mid-Con (Ron Howard - Valpo), to notch both a point/rebound and point/assist double-double during the season... had 16 points and 16 rebounds versus Oakland on Jan. 8... had 26 points and 11 assists versus Chicago State, to accompany four steals on Feb. 22... hit 52.3 percent (114-of-218) of his field goal attempts and 41.2 percent of his three-point attempts (21-of-51)... hit 10-of-11 field goal attempts in his 26-point effort against Huntington College on Nov. 24, while also playing a career-high 37 minutes that game.

High School: Averaged a state-leading 36.2 points per game, which stands as the fifth-highest single-season average in Indiana High School Athletic Association history... was named to the prestigious Indiana All-Star Team... was named the City Player of the Year by The Indianapolis Star... also averaged 7.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game, while hitting 78 percent from the foul line and 48 percent from the floor as a senior... was named Second Team All-State by The Associated Press... was named Senior All-State by The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association... was chosen First Team All-State by The Louisville Courier Journal... was a two-time First Team All-State choice by Hoosier Basketball Magazine... scored a career-high 48 points at Northview on Jan. 17... averaged 23.6 points per game as a junior, and was named Honorable Mention All-State by The Associated Press... named among the top 10 guards at the adidas ABCD Camp following his junior season.
