Emily Nibbelink

Emily Nibbelink, ATC/L, CSCS

Emily Nibbelink took over as IUPUI's Assistant A.D. for Sports Medicine in July 2014 and will oversee the department's athletic training program. In addition, Nibbelink will work specifically with the men's basketball program, while overseeing coverage for all 18 varsity sports and more than 250 student-athletes. 

Nibbelink comes to IUPUI from Bethune-Cookman University, where she worked for more than seven years on the athletic training staff. While at Bethune-Cookman, she worked with the football program for more than four seasons while working with softball for five-and-a-half years. In addition, she also worked with the men's and women's basketball, volleyball and track & field programs, while also helping plan and design two new training rooms. 

She previously worked for the City of Daytona Beach and Embry Riddle as an intern athletic trainer, working specifically with the volleyball and track & field programs. 

Nibbelink studied at The University of Kansas, earning her Bachelor's of Science in Education - Athletic Training, while working with the Jayhawk football and women's tennis teams. In addition, she also worked during three semesters at nearby high schools in Lawrence, Kansas. She earned her Masters degree from California University of Pennsylvania in August 2015.

Nibbelink is NATA BOC certified and is a licensed Athletic Trainer in the State of Indiana. In addition, she's a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Certified Exercise Specialist (CES). In addition to her athletic training background, she's also a Zumba instructor.
