Bruce Fields joined head coach Ben Howlett's IU Indy staff in July 2025 as the program's Director of Operations and will assist in all aspects of the Jaguar program. Fields, an Indiana-native, most recently was head coach at Judson (Ill.) University for five seasons. His time with the Eagles was highlighted by a 15-15 regular season record in 2021-22, marking the program's best record in a decade. In addition, Judson hosted the NCCAA North Central Region Championship game that season, falling to Hannibal-LaGrange in the finale.Â
Fields was previously an assistant for two seasons at Judson and had assistant coaching stops at Trinity International University (2017-18) and Olive Harvey College (2016-17).Â
Fields played collegiately at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, N.C., from 1998-2002 where he accumulated over 1,000 points, 750 rebounds, and 250 assists for the Bulldogs. He earned his degree in Business Administration in 2002 and later earned his Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from Judson.
From 2002 and 2011, he played professionally all across Europe, competing in Denmark, Switzerland, France and Austria. In 2009, he helped Raiffenisen Flyers Wels basketball club to the Austrian League National Championship.Â
Fields was inducted into his Mooresville High School's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2013.
Bruce and wife, Elizabeth, will be residing in the Indianapolis-area with their son, Maximus.Â
