Andy Fagan

Andy Fagan joined the IUPUI basketball staff in August 2016 as Senior Advisor to Head Coach Jason Gardner. Fagan comes to IUPUI from Indianapolis Cathedral High School where he spent the past six years as head coach. He led the Irish to a 108-37 mark in six seasons, including a state runner-up finish in 2013.

He helped Cathedral to the 2012 and 2013 City Championships and was the 2012 City Coach of the Year. Nearly every one of his players had the opportunity to play collegiately at the conclusion of their high schools careers.

Prior to Cathedral, Fagan was head coach at Brebeuf High School (2008-10) and an assistant at Warren Central (2007) on the heels of two collegiate coaching stints. He was on the Franklin College staff in 2002, helping the Grizzlies to the Heartland Collegiate Conference title and an NCAA Division III Tournament berth. He later helped Lynn (Fla.) University to the 2005 NCAA Division II Final Four after capturing the Sunshine State regular season and tournament titles.

Fagan has produced a number of Division I players while coaching at Cathedral, including Collin Hartman (Indiana), Matt Gregory (Notre Dame) and Mo Evans (Fort Wayne). In 2016, he had the unique opportunity to attend the Sweet 16 in Philadelphia to see both Hartman and Gregory compete.

The Indianapolis-native graduated from Indiana University in 2001 and earned his MBA from Lynn University in 2005.

He and his wife Kate have two children - Jack and Julia and the family resides in Indianapolis.
