Biography

Of Note: Was named the recipient of the Michael A. Carroll Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year, earning a full grant-in-aid based on his academic prowess and commitment to community service.

2008 (Senior): Recipient of the Jaguars Athletics Club Academic Achievement Award - the highest academic honor given to an IUPUI senior student-athlete... appeared in seven matches, making three starts in goal in place of an injured Tyler Keever... finished the season with a 1.78 GAA and .708 save percentage... notched his first career win in goal, making a career-high five stops in his second career start in the Jaguars' 2-1 win at Oral Roberts on Nov. 1... later named The Summit League Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 3 after registering a 0.70 goals against average the previous week... recognized among IUPUI's Top 100 students... later selected among IUPUI's Top 10 male students at the 2009 Outstanding Student Recognition Dinner... chosen to The Summit League Commissioner's List for Academic Excellence... Academic All-Summit League honoree... named to the Academic Advisor's List both semesters.

2007 (Junior): Appeared in two matches, including earning his first collegiate start as IUPUI's No. 3 goalkeeper... played just over 62 minutes, allowing two goals during the season... recognized among IUPUI's Top 100 students... selected to throw out the first pitch at the April 30 Indianapolis Indians Baseball in Education Day... chosen Academic All-Summit League... selected to The Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence... named to the Academic Advisor's List both semesters.

2006 (Sophomore): IUPUI's No. 2 goalkeeper, played in four matches as a reserve... have one save in just over 55 minutes work... inducted into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society... Academic All Mid-Con selection... named to the IUPUI Academic Advisor's List both semesters... chosen to the Mid-Con Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence. 

2005 (Redshirt): Did not play... trained with the team... named to the Academic Advisor's List both semesters... named a United States Achievement Academy Collegiate All-American Scholar... named to the UC Dean's List in the fall and PETM Dean's List in the spring.

Prep: Played for the Palmeiras Youth Team for six years in Brazil, helping them to state championships in 2002 and 2004... helped Palmeiras U20 squad to a 14-2-2 record in 2004... is the younger brother of former IUPUI women's soccer player Tatiana Maia (2001-02).
