INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's soccer team will take on Lindenwood (1-0) on Monday (Aug. 24) at 3:00 p.m. inside Michael A. Carroll Stadium, marking the 2026 home opener and home debut for first year head coach Keegan Boom. The Jaguars come in seeking a first victory of the season after opening the campaign with a hard fought 2-1 road loss at Louisville last week. The Jags fell behind 2-0 in the opening 23 minutes, but showed fight, cutting the lead in half in the 70th minute. 

Senior Jose Antonio Herrera earned a penalty kick and then converted the opportunity for his tenth career tally (third PK goal) and just missed an equalizer in the closing minutes against the Cardinals.  

The Jaguars had four newcomers in the starting lineup as transfers Jai Dindiyal and Luke Gonda earned nods, as did true freshmen Peter Field and Santiago Sanchez. Field was brilliant in goal, registering four stops against the high powered Louisville attack. All six reserves that saw action were new to the program with Chicago State-transfer Jayden Quezada having played 53 minutes and rookie Cobe Hamler played 37. 

QUOTABLE
"I think the lessons that we learned in this match across 90 minutes is something that we can take into any environment. I think the intensity of college soccer, especially for our new guys, is something that we've got to adjust to quickly," Boom said after a physical opener at Louisville.

KNOW YOUR FOE
Lindenwood is 1-0 to start the year after a 3-0 win over Chicago State. The Lions outshot CSU 18-2 in that victory and were fueled by a pair of goals from Luca Bartoni. Quinn Closson earned the win in goal, recording one stop in a shutout effort. 

SERIES HISTORY
Monday's match marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
